For our performance tests we used the following machine configuration

Intel Celeron 566 CPU (Coppermine) ASUS P3V133 Motherboard Western digital UDMA4 7200 RPM Hard drive connected to the primary master channel Plextor PlexWriter CD-RW drive connected to the secondary master channel Lite-ON 48 UDMA2 CD-ROM connected via the secondary slave 256 Megs of Ram 16 Meg Matrox Video Operating system of choice was Windows 98se Benchmarking software included Sandra 2000, CDTACH 98, Adaptec EZ CD Creator plus Direct CD.

Re-write scores

For these tests we first wrote a group of files containing multiple files and folders, which consisted of 475 MB onto a 12X CD-R disk. Then we wrote the same data onto a 10X CD-RW disk. Then we just did a quick check of disk erase times.

Write time- (475 MB of data) in 5 min 30 sec –average

Re-Write time- (475MB of data) in 6 min 15 sec –average

Erase time using quick erase – 20 seconds

Erase time using full erase –8 minutes
