In case PCMark is unknown to you, it is pretty much the same as the 3DMark suite from FutureMark except the fact that it includes many other tests like hard drive speed, memory and processor power, so we consider it as a system benchmark and not just a gaming benchmark.

The Phenom II X4 could not beat the QX9770 on that one, but I must say a different hard drive was used on our Core 2 test rig, and since PCMark features a HDD test, it might have favored them a bit. It is also a benchmark known for large differences between different runs, so overall I would say the Phenom II X4 965 is approximately equal to the QX9770, whereas the 955 would match the Q9650. Once our main subject has been overclocked, the score got close to the Core i7 rig, although it was still a bit behind.

P.S. Intel should lower down its motherboards prices to compete with AMD's best.
AMD needs to raise their prices to compete with Intel
the reason why AMD doesnt have many mobile processors is because of their power consumption. in general, AMD processors can use up to twice as much power as the equivalent intel processor, and this is what makes them really unpopular amongst the laptop brands.
i mean intel for notebook and AMD well known for PC
and by the way, this is an old thread.
Here is a graph showing a i7 920 power consumption as compared to a Phenom II X4 940 (these 2 should be comparable, however the Intel is a higher end CPU over the AMD, as well as a newer CPU).

AMD made the stupid mistake of not seeing revenue and profits in the netbooks thinking it was a fad. Because of this they never truly developed a CPU similar to the Atom. If they had gotten in early, netbooks would most definitely be cheaper as we see a trend of AMD CPUs being much cheaper than Intel.
Just because AMD CPUs run slightly hotter than Intel doesn't mean they pack double the power. Lots of factors goes into heat production.
actually, while looking at your graphs, i dont understand why those two processors with those different speeds were compared.
i7 is better then amd x4.But x4 is more powerfull then any of others intel procesor and its very cheap when you look about i7 or i5.

correction, the x4 is more power hungry. the i5 is about the same price as the 965, and beats the 965 by a decent amount.
