PowerColor X700 Pro GameFX Board Series - PAGE 7
Terren Tong - Wednesday, October 27th, 2004

Unreal Tournament 2004

UT2k4 is another DX8 style shooter. Not too many pixel shader type effects seen here. The 6600GT is fillrate limited through 1600 while the PowerColor X700 Pro drops off a bit. Framerates are still very good however.

The amount of physical memory available on the card looks as if it is coming into play again here. The 6600GT is barely ahead of the X700 Pro at 1024 and 1280. At 1600, it overtakes the 6600GT handily. The average framerate is still in the very playable range for the X700 Pro at 1600 with AA/AF while the 6600GT is more of a borderline case at the low 30s mark.

Halo

Big improvement in Halo over the 9600/X600 class GPU in the X700 Pro. The 6600GT again manages to outpace the PowerColor X700 Pro
