With seven external 5.25" bays available and a mind numbing nine internal 3.5" drive bays, the Whisper would make an excellent sever or NAS case with a need for lots of storage. With some features like the insulated panels, rubber power supply cover and the low noise fans included, you do get a quieter chassis than normal.
The biggest complaint I have with the Whisper is the complete lack of a wire management system. NZXT's decision to place a metal divider separating the top and bottom sections of the case only seemed to make the situation worse. While this has the benefit of offering additional hard drive storage, the divider not only makes it near impossible to keep your system neat and tidy but almost stops any cool air from entering the top chamber where the Motherboard is located. With the power supply located in the bottom, there is only the single 120mm exhaust fan to draw hot air out of the top of the case and no cool air to be let in.
The sheer weight of this case is also a deterrent for me to classify it as anything other than a server or NAS. Weighing in at 24 lbs empty and near 40 full it is a real beast to try and move.
In the end, NZXT did a good all-around job with the NZXT Whisper.
