As the Source 220 is based on the same reliable chassis design used by the Tempest 210, you can be assured that whichever case you end up choosing will keep your components nice and cool. These two cases form the backbone of NZXT's budget mid-tower line-up, and with suggested MSRPs in the low $50's they are extremely viable options for replacing the older case. With its minimalistic design, the Source 220 would even work well for HTPC builds.
However, this case does have some issues that would make me think twice about using it for a rig intended to run 24/7, namely the lack of any dust filtering. I do wish that NZXT had sprung the extra few cents to add even the most rudimentary of screening, however I realize this would have necessitated a complete redesign of the front-panel.
The Source 220 has a MSRP of $55.00.
PROS:
-
Budget case that does not skimp on performance or features
- Great dual 140mm exhaust fan design on the top of the case
- Solid, no-nonsense, styling and case design
- Lots of hard drive room for your storage needs
- Minimalistic designs for when you don't want your case to dominate a room
CONS:
- Needs another two to three inches added to the case length for modern videocards.
- Needs another inch added behind the motherboard tray for spare cable storage
- No dust filters on the front, side, or bottom fan ports
- Old design for front panel, makes it impossible to remove panel easily

If you can't be trusted to provide proper visual documentation of your subject, how can anyone trust your opinion as per your review.
Looks black to me.
The case itself looks nice. I like the minimalist/mesh design, and it seems to have adequate cooling. Good Job on the review.
Take a look at the image cache on the indicated page. Of the 8 case shots, 4 of them, along with the thumbnail tag image (upper right of the article page) all appear a sandy beige in color. This is usually the result of residential florescent lighting used in conjunction with a flash.
Not knocking the case at all, more than a decent enclosure. I would have appreciated however that attention to color detail and a few more closeup shots of any unique features this case has.
After all, it's that attention to detail, those little specifics, that a consumer pays attention to, and if I can't see those intricacies of color and form, then I'm not buying.
