Conclusions
The MX5021 is a system to be reckoned with, accurate sound reproduction, revised drivers and some new inclusions that many have been asking for over the past years. The system shows a really well refined image when out of the box compared to other Altec systems including the 641 or 621 series which were the head of the pack for quite some time. The MX5021 takes the lead for Altec as the main performer for gaming, movies and music. It will be interesting to see what the FX6021 brings to the table and how it improves upon the design of the MX5021 but at a price range of $299, the FX6021 is quite a bt pricier. The MX5021 was able to perform in the most intense situations with high marks all around minus the issues of low hiss and and bass limitations in some extreme cases. In movies it performs flawlessly, in gaming it stands a cut above the rest. Really this time around I was quite impressed with the amount of improvements from past generations of speakers by the Altec Lansing.

With an easy to use control pod, infra-red remote and even some nice insulation for the box along with a new port design the MX5021 leaves us with little choice but to give it our high praise. I've used a lot of computer speaker systems and I have to say that Altec Lansing truely has a solid product that can go up with the best of the bunch in quality and style. I would like to thank Andrea Bledsoe for giving us the opportunity to check out the latest from Altec this year. We look forward to the new offerings that Altec has setup in the future. The MX5021 has an MSRP of $199 although you can probably find it for less using pricegrabber and other services.
