Budget Dual-Core Goodness - Pentium D 805 - PAGE 6
William Henning - Thursday, April 13th, 2006

RightMark Latency

Ah ... memory latency. There is simply no subsitute for fast DDR on a fast Athlon 64. Let's look at the chart.

Every singly Athlon 64, regardless of speed or settings, beat every one of the Pentiums, with the best Athlon result being almost twice as fast as the best Intel result.

There is absolutely no contest here. Even the Sempron 3400+

RightMark Bandwidth

The stock D 805 gets the worst result - no surprise here. As a change of pacae, the overclocked D 805 does quite well! It even beats the stock FX-60, X2 4800+, X2 3800+, D 820 and 4000+! The Sempron, with its single DDR channel, does quite poorly -- as expected.
