Budget Dual-Core Goodness - Pentium D 805 - PAGE 5
William Henning - Thursday, April 13th, 2006

RightMark Read

We see the same story as with the Sandra memory test. The D 805 is at the bottom of the heap, but performs respectably once overclocked. The D 840 with a seriously overclocked FSB and fast memory is on top, closely followed by a 4000+ with very fast DDR.

RightMark Write

Well, the D 805 takes two of the two bottom spots, so overclocking it did not help much here until the FSB was pushed to 820MHz, at which point the D 805 reached almost the middle of the pack. The overclocked X2 380+ with fast DDR took the top spot, while the highly overclocked D 840 fell to third place.

In both tests, the Sempron is puffing and heaving, and manages to stay in the running against the stock D 805.
