Intel Pentium 4 2.8GHz Review - PAGE 2Neumann Lim - Monday, August 26th, 2002
I ran H.Oda’s WCPUID to get
some information about the test system for verification purposes. As you can
see the system clock is at 174.02 and has a multiplier of 16 that adds up to
2784.31 MHz. While it is hard to compare the two test systems due to the
differences in the architecture of the components, I will comment solely on the
benchmark results.

CPU Test:
In this test, the Intel 2.8GHz
beats the AMD 2100+ by a margin of about 700 points ALU (+14.8%) and about 1000
points FPU with iSSE2 (+44.7%).
Multimedia Test:
In this test , the Intel 2.8GHz
beats the AMD 2100+ by a margin of about 3000 points in both Integer (+16.2%)
and Floating-point (+30.5%) calculations.
Memory Bandwidth Test:
Again Intel’s 2.8GHz beats out
the AMD 2100+ by a margin of 700 points in Integer (+34.6) and Floating-point
Buffered (+38.8%).
Overall: Intel P4 2.8GHz leads

Similar to the results, in the
other tests, the Intel 2.8GHz holds a large lead over the AMD 2100+ by more
than 50 points.
