AC Ryan Xilencer, SilenX Luxurae, Cooler Master CoolDrive Lite Showdown - PAGE 1
Tom Karpik - Tuesday, June 14th, 2005

In my time here at Neoseeker, I've reviewed a fair share of products designed to appeal to the silent computer enthusiast. We've taken a look at power supplies, video cards, CPU coolers, and even video card coolers, all of which were designed to eradicate or reduce the noise produced by your computer. One important item we have so far overlooked is the hard drive. While it's relatively painless to quiet down your CPU or video card, you can't exactly install a quieter motor in your hard drive. The hard drive is a difficult beast to silence.

Adding to our ever-increasing collection of silent-computing items, up for review today we have not one, but three (competing) hard drive silencers. We will be putting them in a direct head-to-head comparison in order to see which one does a better job at quieting down a hard drive, as well as their respective effects on operating temperature.

Come and see how the A.C. Ryan XTOR Xilencer, SilenX Luxurae HDSS, and Cooler Master CoolDrive Lite stack up against each other.
