Nice review, been looking around for a low end card for my sister and I think I'm going to go with the 5570, gddr3 version. I would go with an older card but her power supply is crap.

On the crysis page it says the 5450 is over-powered not under-powered.

i dont see much of a point to low end 5xxx cards myself. save the money and go for a 4xxx card - you will either save money, or get more performance for your money. theres no point to DX11 compatibility if the cards cant handle the performance output of such games. and the difference between, say the x450's in terms of power would be what? couldnt be more than 50 watts.

Well, when it's for a not so serious gamer who only needs to play the sims 3 at 1280x1024 there's not much point in going any higher, wasted power/money. That and she only has a P4.

yeah buy my point was they either way, youd be better off with a 4xxx card as it is cheaper than a similar performance 5xxx. you mentioned something about the PSU though, but a low end 4xxx shouldnt be a problem.

It's about 250w or 300w. And taking into account about 4+ years of capacitor aging on top of that Doing a full system upgrade for her sometime next year as she's getting more and more into games. If I can get my hands on some cash I'm going to go with AMD's next gen stuff, bulldozer and 6xxx series card(if they continue with the current naming scheme) if the prices are decent, and just hand over my current rig.

Edit: Nevermind, newegg has a deal on a 4670 for only $44 + a $15 MIR. That's too good to pass up. I guess I'll chance it.

Dude I would save the money for a decent card I just picked up a HIS IceQ 5 H577QT1GD Radeon HD 5770 Turbo 1GB 128-bit GDDR5 for $179 bucks at Newegg with free shipping and it was worth every penny.I grabbed 3DMark Vantage and it gets high scores. just DL S.T.A.L.K.R Call of pripryat and it definitely takes gaming to a new level.
