Did you think that that the HD 4890 was the last video card to come out of ATI's HD 4000 series? Well if you did, it turns out you were wrong. Sorry about that.
While the HD 4890 is likely the last high-end card in ATI's current generation of GPUs, it is not the last card to bear a new HD 4xxx designation. That honor will instead – most likely – will belong today's review focus, the HD 4770.
The HD 4770 is not just another middle-road performance video card. While it bears some similarities to ATI's HD 4670, when it comes down to performance, as you will see, there is more that is different than the same.
For the first time ever, AMD is introducing a brand new, smaller manufacturing process first in it's graphics chips, before making an introduction in a processors. Today's HD 4770 is the first video card to feature an extra-microscopically small, 40 nanometer manufacturing process. Positioned against the 65nm 8800GT/ 55nm 9800 GT, and the 65nm 9800 GTX / 55nm GTS 250, the 40nm design of the RV740 isn't the only surprise featured in today's HD 4770.
Let's get on our spectacles and take a peek at this very stimulating graphics card. Could the HD 4770 be a game-changer?

Will post more when I get the card. I will be uploading an unboxing and review video to my new youtube channel!
Please tell me you're not 3DGameman haha.
just got the card today, but my motherboard was DOA so unfortunately i wont be uploading a review until my board comes back. I just hope it was actually dead and not just my RAM =p.
I will post a link here, i cant PM you as im not a member of these forums. Although, I might look into it =]
I will begin posting as soon as my RMA is returned; just note that this build was designed for 'budget gamers' who want to play the latest and greates games available now, including the ever so popular, Crysis and Crysis Warhead.
Ill just begin by listing the specs:
Intel Core 2 Duo e4400 @ 2.00GHz, 800MHz FSB ($60)
2GB (2x 1GB) 667MHz DDR2 Samsung Memory ($20)
160GB Seagate Barracuda SATA III HDD ($35)
MSI G31TM-P21 Motherboard ($45)
XFX Radeon HD 4770 512MB ($115)
TaiSol CPU Aluminum CPU Cooler ($10)
LiteOn SATA III DVD/CD Burner/Reader with LightScribe ($25)
Dynex 400W Power Supply ($25)
Rosewill MicroATX Case with Card Reader ($39)
Acer x183h 18.5" widescreen LCD monitor ($98)
Altec Lansing 2.1 Channels Speakers ($22)
Microsoft Intellimous & Multimedia Keyboard $(28)
Most of these things I got for free, or cheaper than listed. But this one is all about buying used, and refurbished parts to save money, and get a good machine out of doing so.
Obviously this setup is nothing like the one in the neo review, but it will show people with a mid-range system what kind of performance they will get. People still running C2D or PDC arent going to learn much about the way this card will perform in their system if their reading reviews of it running on a core i7 system. So if your looking for one of those, i guess youll have to wait until someone uploads one! =p In the meantime, I will be uploading my own amatuer review on this card.
I would do a build for people with money to spare, but I dont have that =p
thanks!
