Great review. Good use of charts and whatnot. Seems like a great card, even though it's not that good for gaming but good thing that it does the job for HD video and I'm impressed that it comes with those connectors at such a low price.

quite a well equipped little card for what its worth. might be one to put in the HTPC. also, the fact that it has HDMI and displayport is a pretty good bonus for such a cheap card.

Ya if gaming isn't your interest, this card can pretty much fulfill all your needs, which is pretty sweet for $55 bucks.

So on the first page of your review of the 4550 you claim that the 4550 can be used in hybrid crossfire with the an AMD780 G motherboard. Is that a fact? AMD says only the radeon 3450, 3470 and 2400 can be used in hybrid crossfire with the motherboards integrated graphics controller. However, that information was made available before the 4550 was released but AMD is still claiming that to be the hybrids limitations. I just purchased this configuration and was intending on using it for just that so i would really like to know if you are positive and what configurations are neccesary within the bios and catalyst to properly run crossfire hybrid utilizing both the 4550 and the onboard video on my Asus motherboard. I'm not sure whether or not you can hybrid crossfire with this card, but I can tell you hybrid SLI and hybrid crossfire aren't really worth it.

Check your motherboard manual, it should tell you if it can or cannot. Also, does your motherboard have the 785g chipset? If your motherboard doesnt have the 785g chipset then hybrid crossfire is not possible with the 4550 as it is the only chipset that allows hybrid crossfiring with the 4k series.
