3DMark 2005
The Gigabyte X800 achieves third place for single texturing, second place for multi texturing, and last place for pixel shaders here. The plain-vanilla 6600 GT is ~800 points behind the X800 in single texturing, and about 800 for multi texturing. The regular 6800 pulls a much better showing in single texturing than the 6600 GT, but falls behind a tad in multi.
The vertex shader test, always a strong point for the X800 series, yields much better results. The X800 takes the second spot, bested only by the 16-pipe X800 XL. Both GeForce cards trail behind.
Aquamark
Aquamark quite clearly favors the X800 series in both non-AA/AF and AA/AF tests. While the X800 XL obviously takes the lead over the regular X800, the latter still manages to score very well. In non-AA/AF tests, it is consistently 8 FPS faster than the plain GeForce 6800. In the AA/AF tests, the X800s pull away from the GeForce boards even more, increasing the margin of lead between our middle competitors by 15 FPS.
Half-Life 2 Video Stress Test
Valve's Half-Life 2 video stress test has the Gigabyte X800 put up another strong showing and is clearly faster than both the 6800 and the 6600GT. Of particular note is the large drops seen in the 6800 and 6600GT benchmarks when AA is on at 1600x1200 that is not nearly as pronounced with the X800.
