Gigabyte 8N-SLI Royal Review - PAGE 9
William Henning - Friday, July 1st, 2005

Doom 3

Surprisingly Doom 3 did not do well on the Royal, which was almost 10% slower than the leading board in this test. I am beginning to suspect that Gigabyte is using more conservative PCIe timing than the other board manufacturers, which is fine from a stability point of view - but I wish there was some way of tweaking their settings.

Half-Life 2

As usual, the 8N-SLI was a bit slower than most of the other boards; only the AA8XE was slower. However unlike Doom 3, it was only 2.4% slower than the leader.
