NV40 Technology

Instead of going through all the technical stuff behind the NV40 architecture and why it is a huge improvement over the NV3x series, we'll just refer back to our Tech Preview of the 6800 series which goes into some of the 6800 features in more detail. Also be sure to check out the David Kirk interview later on in the article.

Card Comparisons

We take a look at how the Gainward compares to a stock 6800 Ultra solution as well as a stock 6800 GT setup with the eVga 6800 Ultra as well as BFG's 6800 GT OC.


The eVga, Gainward and BFG all lined up.


The 2400/Ultra is definitely based off of a 6800 GT board design. Notice the extra caps on the eVga Ultra and the conspicious absence of a second molex connector on the Gainward
