HDTune is a benchmarking program for hard drives. Their speed also depends on the chipset so this is why I run such a benchmark.
In case PCMark is unknown to you, it is pretty much the same as the 3DMark suite except the fact that it includes many other tests like hard drive speed, memory and processor power, so we consider it as a system benchmark and not just a gaming benchmark.


If we ignore the high burst speed from the NVIDIA chipset, I would say the MA790FXT is the best board in storage performance. Once again, I experienced a little drop when overclocked. I get this symptom almost all the time. It also got the best score in PCMark Vantage, followed by the NVIDIA chipset.

For me, I'm cheap so I like the cheaper board better (since I know I'll probably never do cross-fire or SLI).
YA this board looks pretty good.
For myself, 2 PCIE is certainly enough. Most people I'd say only need 1 slot. No one really needs 3 slots. Getting three video cards isn't really that great of an idea, I'd say. Unless you are building a Folding farm, anyways. Certainly not for the added potential game performance.
