FIC Condor - PAGE 1
Terren Tong - Monday, June 21st, 2004

Introduction

FIC is one of those companies that generally tend to stay under the radar even though they are a huge manufacturer. FIC does not get fanfare the way that ASUS does yet they are winning OEM deals with Intel which gives a good idea of what kind of products they are producing. Instead of catering to end users, FIC manufactures products that a lot of OEMs tend to buy and therefore their retail branding is not as imperative for them as a lot of other companies that are focusing more on the enthusiast market.

Our final SFF system is from no other than FIC. A quick glance at the Condor reveals that it is not a traditional cube system nor do they consider it a typical cube system. In fact, their webpage has the Condor listed under an "Advanced Form Factor" section. The Condor was developed jointly by Intel and FIC for a period of six months. Originally envisioned for the Japanese market, FIC and Intel quickly realized that other markets would be very interested in the Condor and luckily for us they decided to bring it to North American shores also.
