eVGA e-GeForce 6800 Ultra - PAGE 8
Terren Tong - Friday, July 16th, 2004

Tomb Raider

The perennial thorn in the side of Nvidia is Tomb Raider. The 6800 series performs much better than the previous generation, but X800 still reigns king here. The eVga manages to pull even or close to at 1280 with nothing on but slips when AA is turned on.

Splinter Cell

Benchmarks from Splinter Cell were done using Buffer Mode which is supported by both Nvidia and ATi cards unlike projection mode which is Nvidia only. Projection Mode is actually significantly slower for the Nvidia cards taking about a 30% hit when compared to buffer mode.

Splinter Cell has the e-GeForce leading at everywhere except for Tbilisi 1_1_1 at 1600x1200. Performance between the eVga, BFG and X800 XT are very close however.

X2

The e-GeForce pulls ahead with AA/AF on and is neck and neck with the X800 PE XT without AA/AF.
