Coolermaster Centurion 534 Review - PAGE 5Andy Zen - Tuesday, April 25th, 2006
Conclusion
If I had to describe the Centurion 534, I would say that it's typical Cooler Master. The construction quality is of a high standard from the paint job to the attention to detail (rolling off of edges, etc), with no major flaws anywhere outside or inside the case. The installation process has been streamlined somewhat and is by now very intuitive. There are a few major quibbles, such as the lack of a second externally accessible 3.5 inch bay while the 5.25 inch gets five bays, though many of you may not care about this at all. Another minor issue is my dislike for front USB ports that are mounted so low that the only reasonable place for the case to be is on your desk. Yes, I'm a fan of top mounted USB ports.
While the case is solid all around without major flaws, there's nothing that really sets it from the pack either. This is a solid case from a solid manufacturer that prides itself in quality and ease of use. If you want innovation this price range and this case is not really going to satisfy that. Not everybody can or will use the audio headers, since there are no extra features enabled if you hook it up to Azalia. You are still stuck with the two ports.
The 534 is worthy of consideration since it is a Cooler Master with Cooler Master's high quality, ease of use, and overall styling. The style is simple but appealing and the design offers nice convenience such as the side mounted hard drive cage. It's a conservative and safe choice and if the look is to your liking you will not go wrong with this case.
