Externally, the card looks no different from the X1600XT we previewed last week. The PCB is the same size as that of the X1600, and it features an identical copper/plastic cooling setup as it's midrange brother. The card features single DVI out as well as ATI's newest video technology, Avivo.
It's nice to see copper coolers being used on even the lowest spec cards and the card definitely does a decent job of cooling with heat never being a problem despite the high clock speeds.
Comparisons
It may seem odd to be testing a 'low end' card against the 'mid-range' 6600 GT, but a quick check of current pricing reveals that the 6600 GT can be had for $20 lower than the MSRP of the X1300 Pro. This makes an interesting comparison, and although Nvidia does not have an official competitor to the X1300 Pro, they don't need to as the 6600 GT at its amazingly low price is competition enough.
