Ok I don't know whether you guys just work for ASUS or are on crack but this Router pretty much does nothing that was described. It take a bunch of fiddling to even get it to see the internet (cable) and then if you actually get it set you have abot 60 min or less before it drops the connection and you have to start all over again!!. Reset Cable modem, reset Asus router, reset computer, tinker with settings - might work or just try again. Unbelievable, yes the product description sounds good but do you actually own one of these book ends?

You can hook up a usb hub to it and It will do both the ftp server and print server. This has to be one of the nicest routers Ive used in a long while.
Really, very interesting .. have you tried it ?

I've got 2 USB printers (Brother HL-2140 and HP Colour Laserjet 1600) ... which one will work on Asus RT-N13U ?

Thank you

Would it be possible to use a USB hub and connect a printer and HDD at the same time? Would the ASUS recognize them?

Thanks.

Sweet router here. I'm no tech head like you or Kspiess, but this is something I'd want to have if I ever get my own place....

Namely the DL while the computer is off, my computer has to be on about 90% of the time to DL the torrents I'm after (some are over 50GB), and since it is a gaming rig, it is a bit of a power hog >_>

While I'm sure this feature set will eventually become standard with routers in the future, it's nice to see it coming out.

The ability to use it as a wireless streaming server is pretty sweet in itself too.

Nice Review! Made my buying decision very comfortable - literally answered all my questions - with screenshots as well. And FYI it is 'reset' not 'resetted' Thanks!

thank you for the wondeful review
i have been hunting for a new router whit a few extras and this one fits the bill

i was wondering one more thing after you set up the external hd did you try accesing it whit a ps3 or 360 i have 3 comps in my house 1 ps3 and 2 360

and would love to now if music/videos stored on the hd can be accesed by them
First of all, thanks for the good comments!

For the PS3 and 360, I have no way to test it as I don't have these consoles. But if you can download via FTP with them, I guess you should be good.

I wish my current Belkin had a USB port. Could have hooked up a printer or hard drive... Meh, the Belkin works so I'll keep using it. Rather not go through the hassle of putting security on it again. :\

Damn... This Asus router kicks ass. it pretty much has everything a typical router has and then some. I really like the fact that you can use it as a print server or as an FTP server. I think the only thing lacking from its design is the fact that it only has 1 USB instead of 2. That forces a person to choose if they want the print server OR the FTP server. Having the abilty to run both would be awesome.
