AMD FX-60 Review - PAGE 4
William Henning - Tuesday, January 10th, 2006

Business Benchmarks

Disclaimer: the non-FX60 results were obtained with a different video card and driver; however the results should still be largely comparable as the 6600GT was an excellent 2D performer.

Winstone 2004

This benchmark may be an 'Oldie' but I consider it to be a 'Goodie'.

Here we see the Athlon FX-60 dominate. It is slightly faster than the Athlon 64 4000+ running at 9x300 which is partially explained by the somewhat faster memory timing (2.5-3-3-8-2T vs. 2.5-4-4-8-2T) and also partially by the faster video card. The one whole point difference at the overclocked 2.8GHz setting sets it apart from the rest of the results.

Content Creation 2004

The overclocked FX60 once again dominates this chart. Note that the 2.7GHz single core 4000+ result beats the 2.6GHz FX60 result, something we would expect as the Content Creation benchmark is single threaded; however the overclocked FX60 shines.
