AMD Athlon 64 4000+ Review - PAGE 5

RightMark Memory Tests

The Real Read maximum throughput shows the potential of high bandwidth memory.

The 4000+ running with 300MHz memory bus simply blows away all the other results; the only close result is a preview of our upcoming 3800+x2 article :)

We have a repeat performance on maximum write bandwidth. The 4000+ when run with a 300MHz memory bus (DDR600) simply blows the competition out of the water. Yes, the P4's will do better than shown with 800MHz and 1066MHz FSB than shown here, but we did not have those figures availabel for this comparison.

Memory latency is also ecellent with the Athlon 64 - you will note that all latencies below 40ns were scored by some version of an Athlon; and that the best latency shown by an Athlon was half of the best latency shown here by a P4.

Seeing the read, write and latency results, it should not surprise us that the DDR600 equipped Athlon 64 has the best overall bandwidth figures as well.
