AMD Athlon XP 3000+ Barton CPU Review - PAGE 5

Gaming Tests

Quake 3 Arena

Here the XP3000+'s placement is misleading. The chart is sorted based on the highest resolution, but the 2800+ only beats the 3000+ by 0.2 frames at the 1600x1200 resolution... the two chips are actually very evenly matched in this test, though neither is really much of a threat against the 3.0 P4.

Comanche Bench

In Comanche the XP chips cannot beat out the P4's. The 3000+ gets pretty darned close to the 2.8Ghz though.

Unreal Tournament 2003

The flyby results here aren't too enlightening because they are mostly video card dependent. but both the 3.0Ghz and 3000+ show themselves capable of still pushing higher numbers at the lower resolution where the CPU dependency plays a bigger role.
