Abit AB9 Pro Review - PAGE 9
William Henning - Tuesday, October 10th, 2006

TMPGEnc

The AB9 Pro had the worst stock result here, not surprising given that the data for the Gigabyte GA-965P and the P5W it was comparing against were with the 4MB L2 cache E6700; but note how quickly it encoded the file when overclocked!

Sorry about not having a direct comparison, we only recently switched to the E6400 for motherboard reviews.

XviD

XViD also clearly shows that a higher speed 4MB L2 cache part clearly outperforms a lower speed 2MB L2 cache part. No kidding.

LAME MP3 Encoding

For LAME, I was able to do a direct comparison between the Abit AB9 Pro and the Asus P5B. The P5B was slightly faster at stock, and they were dead tied when overclocked.
