VisionTek may not be the first brand that comes to mind when it comes to premium grade DDR3 desktop memory, but this might soon change as the graphics card manufacturer has just released multiple kits of high-performance dual and triple-channel DDR3 memory. VisionTek is launching a full range of memory modules that will fill a wide range of price segments, but since the readership here at Neoseeker tends to be enthusiasts and gamers, this review concerns itself with the Ultimate Performance series of memory.
The Ultra performance kits can be found in either triple or dual channel flavors, and have capacities that range from 2GB to 12GB. In addition to the high capacity, the VisionTek kits are also priced aggressively against competing products sporting similar timings. Currently, the kits are available at Amazon.com, and according to the e-tailer, the 8GB PC3-14900 kit is retailing for $83.99, while the 12GB PC3-12800 kit is priced at $105.99
At time of review, Amazon is the only online store carrying VisionTek's DDR3 memory lineup. However, Neoseeker was informed that in the coming weeks, other e-tailers such as BestBuy.com and Tiger Direct should have them in stock as well.
The 8GB models are designed to work with processors that support a dual-channel architecture, such as Intel Core i3, i5, i7 dual-channel processors, as well as any current processor from AMD. The triple-channel kit is of course designed for the Intel X58 platform, but even while each have different processor support, they share many features in common including a high-performance extruded heatspreader, a power rating of 1.65 volts. Both varieties come with a lifetime warranty.
VisionTek pulled all the stops and intends to be a serious player in the DDR3 market. However, the only way to see if they created a product worth purchasing is to see how it compares to other kits of memory currently on the market.

Anyways nice review, just wish they would have gone with something a little more original on the heatspreaders, but since it's their first set I really shouldn't complain
Used to only buy visiontek cards back in 'the day' and hopefully their service is as great as it was back then.
