How are the reviews for the 470? I haven't checked on them yet and I'm in the market for a new card, just not in a hurry. I mean if this card has 440 of the 480 cores, it can't be that bad and it's substantially cheaper then a 480.

I heard that the 480 cannot be overclocked. If this is true, doesn't that give more significance to the 4870 as a lower priced alternative that can offer virtually equal power if overclocked?

not really, it was closer to a tie. the 480 didnt win by much, if it really "won" at all.

just out of curiosity, kspiess, what do you guys do with the graphics cards and other hardware after you test them? return them to manufact. or throw them in a storage bin?
