Dynatron C42 and C62 cooler review - PAGE 2
Corry S - Tuesday, October 14th, 2003

First Impressions

Before even opening the boxes we could tell there are some serious differences in these two coolers. One box was quite heavy and the other was modest in weight. Upon opening the box the reason for the weight difference became evident; the C42 is made of light weight aluminum with a large copper slug imbedded, while the C62 is made entirely of copper. Withstanding the weight differences both coolers have a feel of solid quality each in their own right. The copper slug in the C42 is seamlessly integrated with the aluminum base, so much so that if there wasn't a color differential you might not know it's there. The solid copper base of the C62 has been machined to a fine sheen leaving a smooth seamless surface. Each cooler comes with 40 "styled" cooling fins designed to pull heat away from base. Also worth noting is the heat shrink on the wires of the C62, it looks neat and uniform for those of us that like clean looking case insides.

Note the waved or "styled" fins of these coolers

The C42 comes with a 34.3 cfm fan registering at 36 dBA

The C62 comes with a heavy duty 37.61 cfm fan registering at 46.5 dBA
