Dual Core Atom: Intel D945GCLF2 & Atom 330 Review - PAGE 12
William Henning - Tuesday, September 23rd, 2008

Sandra CPU

As expected, the Atom 330 based D945GCLF2 had twice the Dhrystone processor performance of an Atom 270.

What is interesting is what a difference the much more sophisiticated wide issue out of order Penryn based architecture makes... granted, it is at twice the clock speed, but it manages to be 3.65X faster for integer and 3.35X faster for floating point than the Atom 330 running at just over half its speed. Correcting for clock speed, the E8500 is 1.85x as fast for integer calculations, and 1.69x as fast for floating point than an Atom 330.

Sandra Memory Bandwidth

The memory performance of the Atom 330 based D945GCLF2 is almost 14% better than the Atom 270 in the Eee PC; ofcourse the E8500 is MUCH faster with the more than twice as fast FSB and more than twice as fast DDR3 memory.

Sandra Latency

I am at a loss to explain why the Atom 330 based D945GCLF2 had roughly twice the latency that the Atom 270 did in the Eee PC...
