The Cooler Master Cosmos case has gone through a few different versions, but until today they were all based on the original design. The Cosmos II is an entirely different beast that sports an all new design that includes full dust filtration coverage, external hot-swap bays, twelve modular 3.5”/2.5” storage bays and an all new cable management system. In addition, the Cosmos II is the first chassis on the market to utilize what Cooler Master is calling an “ultra tower” design. Basically this means the case can fit more components than even a full sized tower, eliminating any spacing issues and allowing it to support all the biggest hardware on the market including larger dual slot graphics cards, E-ATX motherboards, and even the rare XL-ATX motherboards like those from the Gigabyte G1 Assassins series. Along with the new internal design, the case is constructed of mainly heavy-duty aluminum that is also rounded out with steel and mesh. This gives the Cosmos II an elegant visual design that is unique to itself, but with carrying handles on the top and bottom of the case it still maintains the feel of the original. The Cosmos II also includes hinged side doors, front mounted USB 3.0 connectors and a built-in controller that adjusts the cooling fans' RPM level and LED settings.
All the aforementioned features only scratch the surface of what the Cosmos II brings to the table, and it is easy to see that Cooler Master has gone all out in the design. However, as with all premium products on the market the MSRP of the Cosmos II is not going to fit into everyone’s budget. With a launch price of $349 USD, the Cosmos II is definitely not cheap, and since it is priced $100 higher than even some of the most highly awarded cases currently available, it will have a lot to live up to.
