BIOS and overclocking -

The BIOS is a standard Phoenix AwardBIOS setup. There are a lot of options for the tweaker and overclocker. Memory timings can be adjusted as well as the bus speed, multiplier (on unlocked CPUs anyway). Something I really like with overclocking the FSB is the option to type in a number instead of having to scroll through a long list. FSB speeds are adjustable up to 255 mhz while the multiplier can be set between 5 and 23. The CPU core voltage maxes out at 1.85 and DDR can be bumped up to 2.8 volts. PCI and AGP buses are automatically locked although it is user adjustable. Fan control is also available in the BIOS as well as with software from inside windows.

FSB Frequency

100-255 mhz in 1 mhz steppings (typed)

CPU Ratio

5-23, 5 - 17 in 0.5 settings.

Memory Frequency

166-664 Mhz in non sequential multipliers

AGP Frequency

66-100 Mhz

DIMM Voltage

2.5-2.8 in 0.1 increments

AGP Voltage

1.50-1.65 in 0.05 increments

CPU Voltage

1.1 - 1.85 in 0.25 increments

AGP/PCI Bus lock

Yes

The memory frequency settings are less intuitive and are not very well done. Instead of using ratios like 100% or 1.00 multiplier equaling a 1:1 FSB / Memory Frequency, the AK97D has a strange scheme where a multiplier of 2 makes it equal to the FSB speed.
