Too Big or Just Right?

The Samsung 760V TFT LCD supports a native resolution of 1280x1024. Now depending on what you prefer, this resolution may be too small or too big for you tastes. Personally, I feel that 1600x1280 would be too small for this size screen, but I know some people who use a resolution of 1600x1200 on a 17” CRT, so who knows. For those people who like to cram as much as they possibly can on their desktop, then this resolution would be a little too big, but otherwise, I feel it is a comfortable size where I don’t have to sit too close but still have enough room for 2 - 3 windows open without too much obstruction among the windows. With most LCDs, they support other lower resolutions, but these resolutions are only used for emergency situations like Safe-mode for Windows users. Normally, you would not use these resolutions since they are blocky and would be a pain to use otherwise. So, keep in mind when you are looking at any LCD monitor. You will basically be forced to work with the native resolution they have, so be prepared and willing to use a resolution of that size that they set. I do not expect most users to really care too much, but for those of us who require insanely high resolutions, be either prepared to pay a premium or stick with CRT monitors. Finally, the on screen controls are easy to use though some people have complained that the size of the menu is too small. The menu, like most on screen menus is intuitive and those who have ever fiddled with display settings before will be able to easily use it.
