Gigabyte 3D Rocket Cooler Pro - PAGE 1
Howard Ha - Wednesday, October 20th, 2004

Gigabyte expands their popular cooler family with the new 3D Rocker Cooler-Pro cooler. What you will notice right away about this cooler is that it follows the same good looking design used by the previous Gigabyte 3D Cooler products. What it does is extend the design to appeal to ever different users.

For those not familiar with the Gigabyte 3D Cooler series, here's a quick recap: the coolers are round and consist mainly of thin ring-like fins stacked one atop the other to form the tower shape. Four, yes four copper heatpipes run channel heat from the all-copper base up into the fins. The appeal of the cooler is enhanced by the unique look of this entire setup.

The 3D Rocket Cooler-Pro is thusly named because of its two major changes from the other 3D Coolers in the lineup. The height of the cooler is dramatically larger, increasing the number of fins and the length of the heatpipes. This extended design also allows Gigabyte to change the airflow of the cooler to do something slightly different. Notice the flared plastic "skirt" on the cooler, about 1/3 of the way up from the cooler base? This flare is a visual indicator of the area under which air actually flows OUT of the cooler and into the surrounding components.

Like other modern cooler designs, one of the great strengths of the 3D Cooler family is their versatility in installations. The coolers come with installation accessories that enable you to successfully install the cooler into Intel P4 478 and LGA775 platforms as well as AMD Socket A or Socket 940/939. Installation is easy, relatively quick, TOOLESS, and very sturdy.
