Antec SLK3000B Review - PAGE 1
Gabriel Vega - Tuesday, May 3rd, 2005

When it comes to quiet computing, case manufactuers really have to buckle down and study the designs they plan to use. A slight hum or rattle due to a design flaw can cost the company their customer support if they let it go unchecked. For Antec, the company has had an ear out to the silent computing enthusiasts to see what they desire and how they can meet those requests. Enter the SLK3000B, one of the latest evolutions in the company line.

The SLK3000B combines quiet design interests with cost effective design, while the Sonata comes in at the $100 mark at many places, the SLK3000B runs in at around $45-50 without a PSU.

Lets take a look at the case specs.

  • Thermally Advantaged Chassis (TAC) Compliant
  • No PSU
  • Mounting rails for 5.25" drives
  • 2 front USB 2.0 ports
  • Removable Side Panels
  • Removable Drive Cages for 3.5" drives
  • 11 Drive Bays Total (External: 4x 5.25", 2x 3.5"), (Internal 5x 3.5" w/ rubber grommets)
  • Fans: 1 rear 120mm fan (25mm) included, 1 front 120mm fan (25mm) not included

Not a bad deal considering the price difference between this case and the bigger brothers like the Sonata and the SLK3700 series. Lets get a bit more in depth and see how it all pans out.
