Comdex Fall 2002 Report - PAGE 1
Peter Judson - Monday, November 25th, 2002

So it's off to Comdex Fall 2002!

For those who don't really know what Comdex is.. Comdex is a IT conference/marketplace which attracts technology vendors and sellers to a common place where they can meet each other in hopes of bringing addtional value to their business. To the public, Comdex is all about seeing major companies show off their latest technology, and giving them a glimpse of what is to come in the IT/Computer Industry. In addition to the vast displays on the showroom floors, Comdex hosts Keynote speeches from of the leading technology companies in North America.

Comdex is not only a yearly show in Las Vegas (November 17th-22nd). While this is the biggest one, there are Comdex shows in Canada (Sept 16-18 2003 in Toronto). There have been shows in our hometown of Vancouver but Key3Media, who organizes the shows has decided to postpone Comdex Vancouver 2003 due to the "unusually difficult market conditions in the IT sector".

This was quite the last minute decision to attend the show. While I was the only one from the Neoseeker Team who had the chance to fly down, Redemption and Deviate would have gladly come if they had the time or if we had the luxury of sending all of us down south.

During the end of October to mid November I was busy trying to fit in time to coordinate meetings with various computer hardware manufacturers who were going to be at Comdex. I had to jam pack my schedule to fit in all the meetings and media get togethers.. can't forget those!!

Before heading down on Sunday November 17th, I had a pretty full schedule of meetings & also so more leisurely activities. The two top highlights that I was looking forward to was the NVidia Media Breakfast and the Cirque Du Soliel Show at the Bellagio.

For each of the days that I attended the show (Nov 17-21), I will give you a rundown of what I did during the day.

During my stay in Vegas, I stayed at the Imperial Palace. I chose this hotel for its location on the strip and it was within my budget. Here are a shot of the room and one of the view from the balcony.
