We've posted our preview of the NVidia GeForceFX with great pictures of the card that were taken at Comdex 2002. Have a look & let us know what you think.

If *bleep* = sucks
then YES!!! IT DOES!!!

The irony in all this is that their DustBuster Fan takes up a valuable PCI slot, and the ONLY reason why they have such a freaken huge fan is because of their cranked up 500MHz GPU, the irony lies in the FACT THAT THEY ARE WASTING ALL THAT GPU SPEED BY USING ONLY A 16GB/s MEMORY BANDWIDTH.

THEY SHOT THEMSELVES IN THE FOOT BIG TIME. I AM GLAD THAT I BOUGHT A RADEON 9700 MONTHS AGO BECAUSE IT STILL RULES THE ROOST.

okay le me just say something about the fan stuff in the fx...

i got a powerfull system with a powerfull motherboard

my case has 7 slots wich 1 is for agp 1 for arm and 5 pci "i made this system"

so that fan in the pic will grab my arm slot , nvidia my friend... r you crazy ro simply stupid? were im i gonna put my sound blaster patinum??? HELLO!!!!! geez some people forget about the people who got powerfull motherboards or what the arm is right under the agp and above the agp is the p43.06 chip how the f^&%## im i goign to intall it eh?

geez with the so advanced technology cant u nvidia afford better smaller cooling system nowdays?? geez i used to be an nvidia lover seems im goign ati cuz now that is extremly stupid

maybe is time to use neon? "very cold gas" that could help a bit, i mean neon gas and afan or something would keep that nice and cool for 6 years wont it? i mean the new cooling crap is like a fan/ hot air blower is bigger than the card itself lol funny

e-mail me for sugestions even thought i typed this very fast i probbaly got a lot of bad spellign and stuff but what i was trying to say is simply that nvidia has to get a different kind of cooling system

No official release date has been set, but if you talk to vendors and read articles about it, it appears that a February-March 2003 is the date.

I have a Celeron 1800mhz (over clocked to 1943mhz) 256mb ddr pc2100 ram (i just ordered 256mb more) Some Generic Mo Bo with the Intel 845gl chipset, I like to play flight simulators like FS2002. On maxed out setting on 1280x1024 resolution i get a very high frame rate (about 60-80)
I also play lots of first Person shooters. I am very happy with my radeon 7500 and i dont plan on upgrading for a while.

When you pust the FX in, the fan will cover up the 1st PCI slot. You can't use it anyways because of the AGP.

All you need is one AGP slot because the fan just uses a slot on the back of the computer and doesn't cnnect to the mobo.
Well, you only get one AGP slot. You do have to sacrifice the top PCI slot. But you have to do the same with the current cards anyway, so it might as well be put to good use by pulling in cooler air.

You can't just buy a card based on brand, not anymore. ATI and Nvidia have become the AMD and Intel of graphics chips: you need both companies to drive technological advances and keep competition up (and prices down). Most people won't buy the GeForceFX because it's so expensive, but products like the GFFX are what drive down prices of previous generation stuff so that those people spending $150 and below can get a decent card!

hey Cheesysoapopra, what kinds of games are you playing on your RADEON 7500, and what system are you running it on? I'm using the same card on one of my systems .

All you need is one AGP slot because the fan just uses a slot on the back of the computer and doesn't cnnect to the mobo. Where did you find the price of this thing? It's not even out yet. When it comes out, it should be $399 because the GeForce4 line prices will drop.

IM gonna stay with my radeon 7500... Because I get perfect graphics and really good frame rates.. So who cares that i play my games at 128x0124 resolution instead of 2048xwhatever.... Ill just wait Im not spending over 150 bucks on a graphics card.. And Yes I do hate Nvidia And I love Radeon.

Greyum, you really saved my day about the "2 AGP" thing
I needed that laugh... I think that you complain too much
rhough. A lot of money is invested in new technology so it
is not a surprise that new models are getting more and more
expensive. But finally they all wind up pretty cheap sooner
or later. Hell I bought my first "so called" 3d card matrox mystique 2mb for like $150 and although that was expensive for me at that time I wasnt really impressed by the speed increase compared to ordinary 2d cards.
So stop cruing and embrace the new technology that keeps
blessing us!
