Beginner's Guide to Athlon 64 Overclocking - PAGE 1
Tom Karpik - Monday, April 25th, 2005

In my recent article entitled "Athlon 64 Overclocking Techniques", I talked about the performance effects of various overclocking techniques and bus/clock adjustments. There were plenty of technical terms, such as "LDT", "HT", "multiplier", and "divider", thrown left and right. The entire article was written under the assumption that the reader was already quite familiar with how to go about overclocking an Athlon 64 system, and was just curious as to what they should overclock.

In the past few months, I alone have been repeatedly asked for assistance in overclocking a virgin Athlon 64 system. Our forum is filled with posts asking for advice, and Ace just can't keep up.

It is for this reason that I have been asked to write a concise, but detailed, guide to help out those of you who are lost when it comes to overclocking that shiny new Athlon 64.

Read on if you feel brave enough to take your first steps into a very large and exciting world.
