9600 XT vs 5700 Ultra Middleweight Showdown - PAGE 1
Terren Tong - Friday, December 5th, 2003 Like ShareIn the alternate universe of the Internet, where videocards take on lives of their own we are gearing up for a battle of epic proportions. Forget the drama of Mike Tyson biting off ears or the mystery of Don King's ever expanding volume of hair because that is nothing compared to the controversy and excitement that is generated in the videocard world.
In the middleweight division of video cards we have but two contenders. Forget about the chest thumping Xabre or the some 2-bit integrated solution. When push comes to shove it comes down in the 200$ price range, and there we have only two fighters contesting for undisputed value champion. In the red corner we have the ATI 9600 XT and in the green corner we have the NVidia 5700 Ultra. Each of the respective corners have been prepping for months for this showdown for the title of undisputed Holiday 2003 champion. Bad blood has been brewing for the better part of a year with the ATi camp surprising Nvidia with some big knockouts from which Nvidia has not fully recovered yet. Today we take a closer look at each of the contenders-
