Street Fighter IV made quite a large impact earlier this year on the console front. The game took players back to the classic arcade era that kicked off a fighting game revolution. Much of the gameplay celebrates the Street Fighter franchise as well as other Capcom fighting creations. The game brings back the classic fighters from Street Fighter II and dumps in a few new faces, taking the total roster to 25 fighters from around the globe, each one packing unique styles and explosive special attacks.
The PC version of the game maintains much of the same gameplay from the console counterpart. Much of this can be attributed to the ease of porting from the Xbox 360 to the PC thanks to Microsoft and Capcom having their own porting tools. The reduced time bringing the game code has allowed them to focus on important factors to the community such as online play, integrating achievements and throwing in creative bonuses such as the rendering options for watercolor, ink and posterizing. Games for Windows LIVE brings in great online matching and seems to have no issues linking up players using the online matchmaking system.
The game features a moderate system requirement span:

Those operating on mid to high end system within the past 4-5 years should be able to do well, those operating on remotely newer gaming hardware should have no real issue with the game. We ran the game on a 2.2GHz AMD X2 system with an ATI 3850 using all but the AA at max (1920x1200) and the game ran 60fps without a hitch. The only adjustment I would suggest to those lists would be that a gamepad or fighting stick should be mandatory for gameplay since it is much more rewarding and enjoyable.

Yeah, I checked out the price after -- $14.50 CAD. What the *bleep*. It's worse cause that's completely devaluing their own game; it's saying a bunch of stinkin' costumes are 1/3 as valuable as the game itself.
Mods ARE the support from the community end -- that's the point (i.e. supporting modding, people make mods, more people buy your game and future games cause of modding).
I think the biggest justification for the price of the skins is that we should support Capcom for being fully supportive of the modding scene.
Personally I think $10 for a bunch of costumes is a major rip-off...I'm sticking to the mods, some of which are much better anyway.
Glad you liked it.
...rambling.
But yeah, I've still got the Playstation 3 copy to trade in and halve my cost. Will probably have more effect on the cheaper PC title though. I'm indecisive.
Just watched that video you linked though: the varying art styles are pretty awesome. Now I might end up with it on PC after all.
I don't care about the nude mods.
The lack of cross-platform play is unfortunate, but eh. There are plenty of people playing the PC version though.
Other benefits are higher resolutions and shaders.
Either version would do you well, though.
Dead on about the controller, also.. Damn game is hard to use a Keyboard with. ¬¬
Definately be picking up Resi 5, if it's as good of a port as this.
Having been banging-out Marvel vs Capcom 2 lately, this review reminds me of how conflicting the gamestyles are, and I've come to miss the new Street Fighter's less combo/assist-spam/dash-and-speed and instead more thought-taxing and cautious approach. I definitely need to get this game again, yet I'm unsure whether I'll be hitting the 360 or PC version.
Game aside, really good review. Concise, detailed; good read.
