You said it man. If you played on anything other then easy, you were at deaths door all the time. The necromorph are much scarier then zombies. They move so fast and are all ways running right at your face.
Whaaaaat? I've played Dead Space 1 impossible mode once and finished with about 600 plasma energy and enough health packs to turn all the necromorphs in the game back into humans. I've played RE3 Hard mode 20+ times yet i still just scrape by until the end where i get a bit more ammo than i need.

I don't think zombies are bad for a game, I only think you shouldn't have the ability to suplex them. Look at "The Walking Dead" TV series for example. You vs 1 zombie, what should you do? Kill it silently with an axe, bow and arrow, machete, whatever. Don't make noise because more of them come. You have 20 bullets, no matter how good your aim is you can't be fighting every zombie, sometimes is just better to run since they are slow and hope you don't have to come back to that area.

That's what Resident Evil was, I remember running all around the police station in RE2 and the mansion in RE1 dodging every zombie only killing the faster enemies that you couldn't dodge easy. In RE3 it was even better because you had an actual dodge functionality and nemesis would hunt you down, if you didn't face him he'll keep coming around in different locations that you couldn't even believe an npc could do, (jumping from a building, at the end of a really short hallway) even in RE2 I remember one time that after you got really comfortable with the door system, example after you enter the door the enemies don't come through, mister x blows of the door and keeps hunting you. That's what Resident Evil is missing, the challenge and the unexpected.

I don't think the problem is necromorphs. Can we just stop using zombies please? I know RE4 and 5 tried to change that, but then Capcom is just like 'ok it's zombies again'.

Zombies are the singlemost overrated, overused, ridiculous, stupid, overused, non-scary, retarded, overused, horrid (and did I *bleep*ing mention overused? JESUS, stop using zombies) enemies in any medium EVER. I've entertained the idea of what the world would be like if 600 zombies games weren't released every two weeks, and it seems like a pretty decent goddamn world.

Use something original, like what Dead Space did. *bleep* zombies.

All the necromorphs are fragile? In what game and what difficulty? Because the whole point of the necromorph design is to make their limbs fragile (which usually are harder to target when they are moving). What takes two plasma cutter shots in the arms takes several in the body area, how are them more fragile then RE's enemies? specially the last three games where you only need one bullet and one melee attack to kill almost everything.

Enemies got severely dumbed down since RE4, and having endless ammo reduces the challenge even further. The monsters from the classic RE era took a shit ton of ammo to kill and you basically had no choice but to learn how to dodge because there is simply no way you can kill them all. Nowadays you are pretty much required to kill everything in an area before a door will open for you to advance and the game makes sure there are enough ammo spawns for you to do it.

What? Lickers and Bandersnatches have a way more freaky design than necromorphs, they just didn't have the graphics to show it off as well. Also regenerators, drain demos (i think that's how it's spelt, RE3 enemy) and hunters are up there too.
THIS is creepy incarnate. Hell, Dead Space's signature WAS the necromorph designs. The publicity (unlike RE's) was never focused on the main character, it was ALWAYS focused on monsters for a good reason.

Necromorphs are *bleep*ing lame, if Dead Space had RE6's trip mechanic all the Necromorphs would kill themselves because they're so fragile.
While the RE6 "zombies" trip all over themselves? Excellent statement. I think that if they'd implement RE6's control/aiming into any Dead Space, you prolly wouldn't make it halfway past either game.

If you ask me, any game that gives you a shotgun or an RPG can't be scary. Atmospheric? sure. Tense? sure, look at RE3. Not scary.

And most of the intensity in the old REs was because the controls and camera were *bleep*ing horrible. The complaints about RE6 really are quite ironic in that regard.

and let's face it...the necromorphs are 10x more disgusting than any monster design Capcom will ever be able to come up with.

Wow, didn't expect this lol PROOF that NEO IS NOT CORRUPT =D

On a serious note, well, this game is more like a fanservice- bringing all RE characters together and letting you play as them. It sure is not an RE game and is like Spiderman 3- a lot of going on and thus it becoming 'bad'. But hey, we asked for it, didn't we? 'Make an RE game with all characters'. I think that if this game had 24 hrs long LEON-only campaign, then it would be a legendary title but would warrant further sequels for Chris and Jake's stories but maybe Capcom did this either because they wish to reboot this franchise or end it.

Stil in MY honest opinion- Classic REs = Classic Silent Hills = Fatal Frame > Silent Hill Downpour ( read an honest and unbiased review by Polarity here-link ) = re4 > RE6.

Great review, ma'am. I respect you and Neo more now.

Neither of the games are actually scary at all. The only way to scare you would be to make a game like Amnesia or something like that...and even then that will eventually turn into routine. Reason Dead Space gets it right is because its how it was said: DS picked up where RE left off like the dark atmosphere, monsters around the corner, better controls, problem solving, a backstory...and let's face it...the necromorphs are 10x more disgusting than any monster design Capcom will ever be able to come up with. I think DS3 will be more focused on shooting now that you're shooting people...but if they execute the co-op gameplay right...I figure they got my vote.

In DS, I was like "HOLY S***! WHERE THE F*** DID THAT COME FROM?
I was like "great another 10 *bleep*ing enemies" How the hell am I supposed to be scared when every damn corner has 10 damn enemies.

DS literally scared me a total of 2 times. The first time I walked over what I thought was a dead Necromorph and it grabbed my legs and the very end.

RE6 and RE as a whole has nothing on Dead Space. In DS, I was like "HOLY S***! WHERE THE F*** DID THAT COME FROM?" and "Damn it. The lights went out again. Where's my plasma cutter?". In RE I wasn't even scared when they try to scare me(okay, I may have jumped a few times but that it.). RE has been more of a shooter then a horror game. Don't get me wrong they did get it right a few times like RE4, and some others, but it's just be going down hill for a while now. I don't see a furture with RE in it.
