A brilliant review. Having never really been a RE fan I can't say I feel compelled to buy it, even after reading the copius amounts of reviews people have posted about it.

I'm not the only one, right?

Dragoon It seems that overall, the game is designed rather well and actually boasts features that I hope to see implemented in Merc Mode for future RE games.
That said, I got to play it a bit at E3, and navigating on a 3DS with Resident Evil's typical movement system was rather tough.

Very nice review. I just finished playing Mercs after about an hour and must say I am loving it. My only complaint is the enemy sounds and how they tend to move more jumpy the farther away they are. Other than that though, its a great addition to the 3DS library.

One thing I would like to point out, in the review, you say you cant shoot in the demo of Revelations. You can, but yeah its not really used as you run into about 3 enemies total.

Overall though, great review.

I'm still on the fence whether I'll buy this game or not. But this review definitely helps. I'll probably pick it up in the upcoming days.

VonDoom Thanks for the correction, we'll get on it. Dany/ Reenee reviewed it, but I inserted as much of my Resident Evil knowledge as I could -- something must have gotten mixed up in there.

piro leetusagi Just keep in mind it has no real sell-back value, as saves cannot be erased. Hope you enjoy the game!

I was actually wondering about that. Thanks for the info. I rarely sell my games though, so that won't be a problem.

The main problem will be...having money to actually buy the game.

If I were ever into RE games I'd get it, but the only one I tried was 5 (I know commonly disliked by diehard RE fans) and I think it was the mercenaries mode. I just thought the controls were awful. I might give Revelations a shot at some point though.

Controls in RE games do take getting use to. I personally love it. In real RE games, it makes the game more tense, scary, and exciting. The whole, only shoot when your not moving mechanic is great imo. Think about it. Your being chased by a bunch of zombies, but you can move and shoot. You have to position yourself and gun them down as the charge you or throw crap at you. Its also fun when your running from a chainsaw guy. You can hear him, but when you turn around he isnt there. Then he pops up behind you and WHAM. Your heads on the ground. I dunno I thought the controls were lame when I played RE4. I got use to them though about 2 hours in and liked them. I'd say get Mercs if you want a good portable shooter. It works well and so far, online has been great as well.

I like that it's finally something you don't see everyday. RE in 3D is awesome and it also shows what 3DS is capable of but the fact is that it's too much for a handheld. It's the main thing why DS was better than PSP. All those games on PSP were something you should play at home on a TV. While those simple DS games like Kirby, Zelda, Mario, Pokemon were 10 times more simple than all those PSP exclusive tittles with 3D graphics but it's a handheld. The games should be simple but if you're a true fan of RE 3DS small screen wont make you feel uncomfortable in any way.

Yeah, I might try Mercs or Revelations once I'm done with some of my current games.

Make video reviews! Would bring a lot more traffic to the site if you posted them on a Neo Youtube channel.
