RDJD has introduced to us -the K701 thin-finned Athlon cooler. From our experience with RDJD products we have found that they always try to pack top performance into a small and inexpensive package. The K701 cooler is no exception. It's design is classic for an Athlon cooler -but it uses only one 17.5 CFM fan to keep the heat off the sink, in combination with a thin finned heatsink. But will the size and price of this cooler affect the performance? Well see ; )
Features
Approved by AMD for its top-speed Athlon 800 MHz processor.
Unique sink to socket clip for fast, easy attachment/detachment.
High performance thermal interface allows efficient heat transfer.
Folded fin design is lightweight (only 199 grams) and offers more consistent flatness and better contact than competing technology.
Priced significantly lower than competing designs while offering better cooling characteristics.
Includes dual ball bearing fan for quiet, efficient operation for 50,000 hours.
Specs:
Fan Dimensions: 52mm x 52mm x 15mm (WxHxD)

The Package & Installation

| RDJD K701 Installed |
Our K601 came shipped to us fully assembled and ready to install. On the bottom of the sink was a nice thermal pad too- so there wasn't any need to goop thermal paste on for maximum cooling. They also included an extra support bracket to use (if your motherboard is equipped to handle it) just in case you want extra support to hold the cooler tight on the processor, or to keep it from drooping -but we felt no need for this bracket -as the cooler clamps give an extremely lock tight grip anyway.
Installation was nothing more than a snap! We really liked the mounting screws used to fasten the cooler to the CPU. They secure the cooler tightly -plus since they are tucked out of the way -they would be extremely helpful when overclocking with a GFD because there arent any brackets or swinging latches to get in the way.
Power is supplied to the one attached fan via a single 3-wire connector -simple and effective.
So far I have to admit this cooler rocks! But before I totally vow never to use anything else again lets see how well it scores.
