I like the game well enough myself, but considering the 21GB+ size I was hoping for better textures for bric-a-brac and nearby objects (like rocks, as you mentioned). It could simply be issues with the programming that will be fixed though (IE: the textures we're seeing as always low res aren't the textures they're supposed to be using).

I don't have pop in as bad as some people, but I still notice it from time to time.

The game, as a whole, seems pretty decent buy it feels like it's trying to be some combination of Borderlands and Fallout, but feeling like a letdown on both counts. You could say I'm spoiled, I guess.

Looting just feels rather weak...For example:

"Oh yay, $2...Never mind the fact that there is a gun clearly dropped by your corpse that I can't pick up for some reason..."

It is a programming issue, as noted.

Agreed on all. Like Heath did, I enjoy it despite its flaws, though, at least at this early stage...I could see it getting boring after a few more hours, maybe.

You get weapons so quickly.

I'm 2 hours in and have the Settler, a Combat Shotgun, 9 wingsticks, a Striker Crossbow, HE grenades, a Sniper Rifle and an Assault Rifle with Compensator and Stabilizer.

That's a bit much for 2 hours in, is it not? I've gotten bored and turned it off twice, after about an hour.

I loved it up until the people I once knew as the fine citizens of Wellsprings became horrific distorted monsters of their former character models. Then the game decided it should crash every time I attempt to enter a new area. Well, I'm glad I bought Dark Souls to hold me over until this game gets patched, but once its flaws have been fixed, I can see RAGE being one of my favorites of the year. I do love the amount of Wingsticks that can be carried, I currently have 96 and am quite enjoying the decapitation death animations. I just really hope that Doom 4 doesn't have these same issues, I want to play that the second I get home from the Midnight release.

Tbh I played like 20 minutes and turned it off. It looked like I was playing an N64 game with those incredibly low-res textures. Hopefully this will be fixed soon so I can go on to enjoy actually playing it without feeling like I payed $60 for Quake 3.

I'm a bit further along in terms of time, but then again I've also finished ALL of the currently available races (3 different sections, with several events each).

Also, I have 65 wingsticks, only like 5 of them were purchased...The rest I made with the plans (which produce 15 wingsticks each XD).

BTW: I think there are only two main weapons after this (Launcher and plasma weapon)...

I preordered the game several months ago as I love anything from ID I have everything they have made. I have played it for 4 hours and I have not found anything disappointing. The graphics are very detailed and so far the story line has kept me wanting to know what is nest. I have noted some out there that have has video problems or crashes all I can say is I have not had one problem using the Nvidia 280.26 drivers with 465 SLI AMD 970 motherboard Vista 64. So far the frame rates have been steady at 60fps. I am very pleased with the game so far and am enjoying it better than Crysis 2. Will see what the next 4 hours bring, been worth the wait so far.

modern 'AAA' PC game rule # 7: if there hasnt been at least one major patch released for the game, dont buy the it yet.

on an unrelated note, dungeon siege 3 is awesome (if youre not expecting something revolutionary and dont judge the game by its ass-full demo). total sleeper hit for me. takes a little while to hit its stride, but its there.

Obsidian Entertainment? Pfft, not a chance. They wouldn't know how to create an entertaining game if it hit them in the head.
