More Puzzle Solving
Another type of puzzle that is interspersed throughout the game involves Bobs ability to possess the bodies of creatures. In Messiah, there are about 10-20 different types of characters that you can possess on a regular basis, and with each come individual strengths and weaknesses. Often it is necessary to posses a particular character in order to pass through a given security point or the equivalent. One of the nice things about the game is that you dont have to have a police officer or another authority figure in order to have or use a gun. The truth of the matter is that generally any character that Bob can possess may use a weapon. One must be careful, though, to act like the character you possessed in order to avoid being detected. Thus you cannot possesses a scientist and intend to walk around freely with a weapon in hand. The fellow scientists will wonder what you are doing, and then as soon as the gun-wielding scientist passes someone who is authorized to hold a weapon (namely, a cop), the officer will scream, You are not authorized to use a weapon! and commence firing upon you.
One of the more innovative puzzles in Messiah, which showcases the creators imaginations, is one in which you must fill a crate with human body parts before you are allowed to go further. The designers made sure to include enough living creatures in the room to fill the order, and your job as Bob is to possess the humans in the room and force them to jump into what is best described as a giant meat grinder. Once three humans are dumped into this contraption, an automated process begins whereby the container is passed from one room to another. This is the window of opportunity that you need to exploit in order to make the transition through the rooms.
