Introduction
After three years of development, Messiah is now ready to present itself to the world. Shiny Entertainment has come out with such titles as MDK and Earthworm Jim in the past, both third person perspective games, and based on these, my expectations are high for their latest addition to the Shiny product line up. Messiah is definitely not your average game. Sure, every game nowadays attempts to include its own unique features, but consider the very premise of Messiah, which forces you to suspend your reality from the very onset.
Let me introduce you to Bob. Hes just your everyday working-class angel trying to get through life, performing cherubic acts in an attempt to earn his wings. He has been working hard to get them, and his big break has finally come. It seems that mankind has strayed away from the light and the salvation of the Lord in their attempt to glorify themselves via science. As a result, society has decayed and people have lost their faith in religion. Science is now the surrogate for the Lord, and the leaders of the world are delving into the dark side of their newfound religion. These leaders of the earth, otherwise known as The Fathers, have an insatiable thirst for power. Led by the insidious Father Prime, this group has constructed a base on the dark side of the moon that serves as a direct conduit from the material world to the nether regions where Satan and his fiends lay. The Fathers hope to gain ultimate power by using this portal to hell to contact the devil himself.
