Pretty good review, about what I expected. It's just a shame we won't be looking forward to any DLC.

Great review RCG! Unfortunately I don't have a 360, but it was a nice read.

"Sighhh". Ms. Sung is very well-spoken in her article, and did a good job at highlighting the games strengths. Unfortunately, as a RTS fan who has lived and breathed the genre since Warcraft II(go mage bombs!!) this games demo showed me nothing but an utter failure of an RTS. Most reviewers agree with me. You wrote a detailed article and expressed your opinion admirably, but having read other articles and posts authored by yourself your preference for everthing Microsoft is thinly veiled. This game will not appeal to RTS fans, but Halo fans may enjoy the romp in the Halo universe. These types of reviews show why it is important to not just buy into the hype. It blinds one to the end product.

After reading your comment brett I begin to wonder if your other 4 posts are just as uninformed as the one written here. I do not know what you mean by

as the only WELL KNOWN reviewing site that has given this a bad review. 6.5. was Gamespot. Halo wars has averaged 8 to 9's in the top reviewing mags and sites. check ign. Creating a console rts is a relatively new thing for ensemble and for them to take something as HUGE as the halo universe and transfer that into a totally unrelated genre was in no way an easy feat and for them to do it so well is amazing.

1. Thanks for the compliment regarding my writing.

2. Yep, I do have a preference for Microsoft games because I own an Xbox 360. Can't very well prefer PlayStation 3 games if I don't have a PS3, eh?

3. Actually, I never stated RTS fans would enjoy the game. I even admitted that not all Halo fans would buy into it either. You should really re-read the article more carefully and try to understand it before you make such statements.

I must say that was an excellently written review, RCG.

Being a Dramatic Writing major in college, I notice how much effort you put into it. It was long, but it was obvious that you knew your audience.

Sure as hell helped me make my decision. Halo Wars officially has priority over Killzone 2.

Having read past comments from yourself, you've taken all veils covering your hatred of Microsoft and burned them along with a picture of Bill Gates.

Why trust you but not someone who wrote an extremely detailed review?

Pulling off a decent RTS on a console is not an easy thing to do (see StarCraft on the N64), I like what they're doing with Halo Wars but not being much of a Halo Fan I don't have any urges to go out and buy this, let alone rent it. If given the chance to play it I would totally be down.

For the moment it's retaining an 82 on metacritic.

I think it's insanely stupid for sites to give a game a perfect score; especially when they list negatives. *shakes fist at GameShark*

I think I was one of the few that felt StarCraft on the N64 was pretty darn awesome.

well, I must admit it was a good read, that's for sure. I thought the review was well balanced in truth, though it might have been a little biased. *cough cough* Personally i think that fans of the halo world will love the game, though major RTS fans will probably find it lacking. The only real shame i see to the game is the story. Besides just the bad lines, every player knows whats got to happen, the story's set in stone...but i'm excited to play it none the less.
