Ok. I created an account just to comment on this review. First off, I think this is one of the best reviews of the game that I have read. All of the points are well presented and justified. I agree with most of what's been said in it. BUT... this game has a lot of aspects that are important to me, as an older gamer: it is slow pace, the story is nothing short of amazing and the game play is solid and it needs some sort of strategy to make it through the game. So, in my humble opinion, I would have given this game a score of 8 out of 10.

Hey pots555! Let me just start off by welcoming you to the Neoseeker fold! Here you'll find a great community of like-minded gamers with extensive news, reviews, wikis, and cheats for all of your favorite games.

I also wanted to thank you for taking the time to read my review and sharing your feedback with me. It means a lot to me when I get feedback from fans! Especially when it's constructive!

When reviewing a game it can be tough to have it where everyone agrees fully with your observations. In the end it's really just my opinion, and you can find just as many people who disagree with those opinions as you can who do agree. It goes with the territory, so please don't ever hesitate to share your opinion....even if it differs from my own. I'm a firm believer in learning from each other, and I'm always up for a healthy discussion.

To be honest, I never thought to look at the game from an older gamer's point of view. As it stands I am the oldest member on the editorial team at a whopping 35! I also play video games nearly every single day and it's quite easy to strive for a faster pace in video games when you're always on the go. May I ask how much older than me you are?

I have a family with 4 kids, and a full time job as well as a LEGO hobby that keeps me feeling younger than I have any right to be. I try to take my life situation(s) into account when reviewing any game, and have reviewed quite a few family friendly games as a result. You may find me referring to my family in a few of my reviews because they have a huge impact on what I play and sometimes when I play them.

I agree with you fully that the pacing is perfect for those who want to slow down a bit, and I'm sure there are plenty of players who will enjoy the feel of an older game as there are plenty of those who are still enjoying 8-bit games. The story is definitely the selling point of the game for anyone who loves story driven games, and I think any reviewer who tries to ignore that is failing their audience.

While I'm here I thought I'd also point out you can actually submit your own review for the game on the main profile page here: http://www.neoseeker.com/Games/Products/PS3/game_of_thrones/ Just click on the "Contribute" tab and select "User Review". I'd love to read it if you get the opportunity to do so, so please post a link in this thread!

I apologize for making my response so long winded. I will recap with welcome to Neoseeker, thanks for the feedback, and I agree the pacing is great for those who want a more methodical approach.

Wow! I never thought anybody in the world would read my reply. Thanks for taking the time. A family man myself (one boy of 7 and soon to be the proud father of a girl), I really enjoyed, as you saw, the slow pacing of everything. I will be 41 years old in a few months and I am starting to appreciate these little gems of a game that no one pays attention to. I am frankly a bit surprised such games are still being made. Lately, I have been having fun with the original Risen: it's hard and confusing, there is no hand holding at all, but you can take your time with it. No rush. I must be getting old...

Anyway, thanks for the review and your comments. I'll be sure to follow your other reviews.

This game reminded me of Two Worlds 1...I like Two Worlds 1
