Link these days has become quite the icon for attention, a character willing to show all sides of himself to gamers, usually in a hillarious way though as his pants catch fire or when he falls down into a pit. No matter what, Link these days is a popular icon even after his much critized debut as a cel-shaded character to the original Gamecube title. Soon we'll bid farewell to the young Link and step into a new era with a teen Link and all of his spinoff titles. Ha you know it's true!

Anyway, The Four Sword Adventures takes off from the original, a dark force is brewing once again, Link is summed to visit the shrine to the sword but as the ceremony takes place to enter the alter realm to see the legendary sword, a shadow Link appears capturing the maidens and the Princess. Only Link can take up the task to save those in trouble, he must enter the alter realm and wield the sword once again, while doing so the evil once imprisoned villain is freed from the source and the curse of the Four Swords takes over link seperating him into 4 different bodies.

The game itself incorporates the idea of "connectivity" by Nintendo, while I love connectivity, I have to admit that unless all your friends have GBA's the feeling isn't quite there. The AI is fun to control but there's nothing like yelling to the other chairs or couches in the room telling that person to get off their butt and get moving or they'll be replaced by a someone else. Connectivity calls for 4 seperate systems to be used for true 4 player gaming, while 2-4 are required for multiplayer I wouldn't really go for any less than 3 users at once. The game supports a single player setup for gameplay as well, users master the 4 formations possible for Link and take on enemies and bosses to confirm if they're really mastered the moves or not.

The game brings multiplayer goodness home this time around, in the connectivity department Nintendo has been so kind as to provide a ratings setup at the end of multiplayer matches, this tallies up how each human controlled player performed by way of private ballet voting on the GBA systems, the users can pick the Hero of Darkness and the Hero of Light. Usually the slacker or greedy player of the bunch quickly earns the negative points as the hero of darkness. Players of light get bonuses obviously but in the end the one with the most force gems dominates the rankings. Friends can easily turn into bitter rivals through this system as players seek revenge on their partners.
