I swear to god, If I'm not able to play it I'm going to raise hell. I bought the Half-Life 2 Collectors edition, freaking 80 bucks I better get DOD Source!

The player models do look excellent though.

So since I bought the collector's, does that mean I get DoD for free?

I got the DVD collectors edition too. I think I read somewhere though that only the silver and gold packages through steam will receive DoD for free. I sure hope I am wrong though. I will be quite upset if I payed 80 bucks for a DVD and a t-shirt. I guess we will find out soon enough though.

Nah, it's €30 so it's around $37,50
Anyway, yeah, Alias, you'll be able to preload DOD:S for free. It says so on the box anyway, doesn't it?

It doesn't?!
It's supposed to, I remember thinking wether I should wait a month for the collectors edition so I could play DoD or just buy it right away which I did...

Well I was reading up on the steam forums and found out that people that purchased the retail version will have to buy DoD seperate. The thing that bums me out is we still can't preorder it. Hopefully they will make the game available for single purchase before it is out; I would like to start the download now.

I wanna upgrade my retail bronze account to silver!! All this would get me is DoD:S because ive got the rest already. Still, i'd pay that $10 difference.

I dont think you get it on collectors edition, if its from a shop steam will consider it as the bronze edition. You can only get Silver and Gold from steam.

The collectors edition is just giving you more cd-keys to register on steam?

It's not a matter of Steam considering it as a bronze addition. It's really easy to tell the difference between Collectors Edition holders and Non-Collectors edition holders, namely, IF YOU HAVE HALF-LIFE 1 SOURCE THEN YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO GET DOD:Source. That just makes sense I think, they better do it like that.

Its not like that, it goes by what package you have.

Im sure retail owners wont be able to play DOD:S and have to buy it seperate like me and steam buyers on Silver or Gold can.
